Dr. Laia Reig grew up near Barcelona, Spain. She earned her degree in veterinary medicine as the valedictorian at Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona in 2013.
Dr. Reig had a passion for large animal medicine and moved to the United States to complete specialty internships focused on surgery and sports medicine in Kentucky, then with Virginia Tech and Cornell University. Dr. Reig then pursued her Educational Commission on Foreign Veterinary Graduates licensing through the American Veterinary Medical Association, while working at a small animal clinic in Newnan, GA and volunteering at a high volume spay/neuter clinic in Carrollton, GA. After moving to the north Georgia area and working at an equine practice for two years, Dr. Reig joined the Animal Medical and Surgical Center team in 2022. Whether caring for large or small animals, Dr. Reig is committed to providing the highest quality of veterinary care for her patients, while building long-lasting relationships with her clients.
Her professional interests include surgery, rehabilitation and diagnostic imaging. She enjoys her free time hiking with her husband, Bryan, her baby daughter, Malia and their dogs Sydney and Roxy. She also loves riding dressage with her horse Malone, cooking and traveling.
