Rachel Batton

Dr. Batton is a native Floridian who was studying at Florida State University with the intent of becoming a neuropsychologist when she realized her true calling was veterinary medicine. Her decision to care for animals proved no surprise to family and friends who had watched her tend to four cats, three dogs, an iguana, fancy rats, and other little creatures as a child.

Always the adventurer, Dr. Batton decided to spend her four years of veterinary school at University College Dublin, Ireland. Upon returning home in 2021, she completed a one-year Avian/Exotic internship under Gary Riggs, DVM, ABVP at NorthCoast Bird & Exotic Specialty Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio.

Dr. Batton has a love of all furry and nonfurry little friends. She especially enjoys caring for exotic small mammals and reptiles and educating their families about them.

When not at work, Dr. Batton loves traveling to new places, discovering new restaurants, and spending time with family and friends.
